Set Up, Breakdown, Door Moditor, Greeter, and Coat Check. All shifts are 4 hours long and generally require that you be able to stand on your feet, perform some physical labor, and have a friendly demeanor. It’s important to wear comfortable shoes and attire. Parking is FREE and if you use public transportation be sure to check the hours of operation before signing up for a volunteer shift. Here is a description of the Volunteer categories.
Set Up: Volunteers help with setting up the bookstore, decorating the hall, arranging tables and chairs, transporting items to booths, and other tasks. Volunteers should be able to lift 40 lbs., be on your feet for 4 hours.
Breakdown: Volunteers help with breaking down and packing up items after the close of the show on Sunday evening. This is a very physical job which requires strength and mobility to dismantle booth fixtures, tables.
Greeter: Volunteers provide a friendly greeting to attendees, help with line control, and assist ticket takers.
Coat Check: Volunteers help with checking coats and items from attendees, volunteers, and speakers. Provide event information to attendees.
