His Eminence Shyalpa Rinpoche is the visionary founder of the Universal Peace Sanctuary, under
construction in Lumbini, Nepal. Rinpoche’s mission is to “Make peace more fashionable than
war” and foster world peace through inner peace. The sanctuary will be a radiant beacon of
friendship, cooperation, and reconciliation and welcome people of every race, color, and creed,
believers and nonbelievers alike. It will honor Queen Mayadevi, the mother of Prince
Siddhartha, who exemplifies the mother’s unconditional love for her child.
The Universal Peace Forum seeks to weave a luminous thread of unity through the fabric of our
shared humanity, inspiring everyone to nurture their inherent capacity for freedom, peace, and
boundless joy. The historic launch of the Universal Peace Forum in Davos reminds us of our duty
to uphold peace as a fundamental right and embrace it as our collective responsibility. A
thriving global economy is essential in supporting the goal of worldwide peace.
His Eminence Shyalpa Rinpoche has established non-profit organizations in the United States,
such as Rangrig Yeshe and Buddhafield, located in New York. In Asia, he founded the Wencheng
Gongzhu International Foundation, which is based in Hong Kong. His Eminence is the abbot of
Shyalpa Monastery and Nunnery in Kathmandu, Nepal, where he leads over 150 monks and
nuns. His charitable organizations include the Bhriku: Himalayan Foundation, which supports humanitarian projects in the Himalayan region.
