Ed Rosenthal will moderate a panel of hemp stars to be announced that will cover various aspects of marijuana, its medical and recreational uses, cultivation, chemistry, recipes and its relationship with individuals and society. The panel members from various parts of the marijuana community will adapt the subject to the interests of the audience. This will allow for greater interaction among all those present. The panel will begin with a few moments of stretching to relax everyone and help focus on a most enjoyable subject.
Steve Kubby is a Libertarian Party activist who played a key role in
the passage of California Proposition 215. Kubby himself is well-
known as a cancer patient who relies on medical cannabis. He won over
70,000 votes as a candidate for Governor of California in 1998 and
has declared his candidacy for the Libertarian Party's 2008
presidential nomination.
Lynnette Shaw worked with Dennis Peron in California's first dispensary in 1991
then set up the Marin Patients Alliance that has been providing medicine to Marin residents since 1997.
She is currently organizing southern California dispensaries that have been harassed by federal authorities.
Shona Gochenaur
is the co-founder and director of Axis of Love SF, a medical cannabis patient advocacy organization.She facilitates the Womens Health Support Group, a medical cannabis collective for low income women. She currently chairs the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club Cannabis Caucus. Shona has made incredible progress enfranchising the residents of San Francisco's tenderloin which has impacted SF policies.
Steve Smith is the co-founder with Cathy Smith of Hope-Net, which was the first San Francisco dispensary to be licensed. He has also pioneered new growing techniques and has set a standard for other dispensaries to match.
